Chuck Stuck - This picture was taken during a junior cow elk hunt in unit 6B in 2004. My son had a tag and we came up over a hill and saw these two elk locked up with their antlers. My brother in law and father in law took these pictures. Turns out the elk on the ground was dead. The other elk finally broke free of the dead elk. We called game & fish and after inspecting the animal, he determined the dead elk was stuck threw the nasal cavity by the other elk's antler and was killed. The dead elk had been dead for a few days from what the game and fish officer told us. We were allowed to harvest the head but the meat was spoiled due to the length of time the elk had been dead. This is definitely a once in a lifetime find for my son and I.
